Good morning! I chuckled quite a bit reading this post. I grew up with dogs and they definitely all have the different personalities. Some dogs are smarter than others and Gaia sounds so endearingly goofy and I would imagine would supply nonstop happiness to those around her even if you are on suicide watch.
It’s been many years since I had a dog, we currently have a number of cats. Our travel schedule is not conducive to having a dog, but I think about it often, and it will definitely be part of my retirement when our schedules are a bit more consistent.
Again, have a great morning, thank you for the smiles.
Cats. They don’t put up with being dragged. They will jump up on the cart and go for a ride! If it takes them somewhere nice, they stay. If not, they bolt. Hedonistic little beasts that have taught me to love unconditionally.
Each dog is so different. We currently have a Beagle and everyone tells us she's an amazing Beagle. But our last dog was a Lab and a very good lab at that... So this pup might be a great Beagle but she's a terrible Lab! Each dog, though, has such a different personality and view of life. I'm learning a lot from both of them.
loved the way you read Socrates quotes, when I do it I never add inflections or any personality which I never realised makes the reading dull sometimes (don't judge me, still a student). But hearing the way you read his quote has made me re-think how to read philosophy in the future, I'll try and give the philosophers some personality in my head in the future. Great read overall.
Thanks! I'm glad to hear I'm narrating well. I started recording my voiceovers a couple of months ago and wondered if people were appreciating them. Substack doesn't do a great job letting you know through stats if people are playing the voiceover, so I have no clue.

Beautiful, funny, and another great piece in finding the nuance on an entertaining topic like dog philosophy.
🐕🚶♂️ !!! 🔥🔥🔥 👍👍👍
Animals, instinct-driven live in the present only, enjoy it 100%, have no past, future or concept about death ...
Gaia is adorable and sounds like such a goof. ❤️

Ha! Yes, cats would ride on the cart of destiny as long as there were some good views.
